Camp Details
Thank you for your interest in the Dixie State Baseball Spring Pitcher / Catcher Camp. This camp is designed to be a very advanced camp with a high level of instruction. Enrollment will be limited in order to maximize personal attention. Players will be grouped according to age, physical maturity, previous experience and overall ability. Our primary goal is to instruct all players on proper pitching and catching mechanics which will maximize performance.
Pitchers will receive instruction on:
Mechanics, Form, Grips, Release Points, PFP's, Pick Offs, Location Drills, Form Drills, Arm Care, Arm Prevention Techniques, and Bullpen Mound Work
Catchers will receive instruction on:
Receiving, Blocking, Throwing, Bunt plays, Tag plays, Pop-ups, Past balls, Catching Live Bullpens, Strength & Agility and the Mental Game
General Information
Our staff will include the current Dixie State Coaching Staff as well as high school and college coaches that will conduct specifically designed sessions that focus on mental preparation, strategy and the keys to becoming a better pitcher and catcher. Each player will receive instruction on the pitching and catching mechanics as well as be given lectures on strength and conditioning and the mental approach. Each camper will receive valuable pitching and catching instruction that they can take with them to aid in becoming a better player.
Medical Staff
There will be a certified athletic trainer available at every camp.
Facility
Bruce Hurst Field is the site of Annual Heatstroker Prospect Camp. Hurst Field has been the home of the Dixie State Baseball team since 1994. It is located right in the heart of the Dixie State College campus, near Hansen Stadium and the Burns Arena. Currently, it has a seating capacity of 2,500. Its playing surface is has been touted as one of the best playing surfaces in the country.
Items to Bring to Camp:
- Players encouraged to come in uniform: Little League/Super League team
- Baseball glove
- Catching Gear for catchers
- Cleats and Turfs or tennis shoes
Non-Baseball Items to Bring to Camp:
- Baseball Hat
- Jacket (windbreaker)
- Long sleeve shirt
- Snack
IMPORTANT : please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

Additional Information
The majority of the camp will be held at Bruce Hurst Field and college facilities. It is a incredible facility that will only add to the experience of the camp. Inclement weather is not anticipated but if it does occur then we will utilize indoor facilities at the College.
Refund/Cancellation Policy
- 80% refund - Cancellation 10 or more days prior to Camp
- 60% refund - Cancellation 3 to 9 days prior to Camp
- No refund - Cancellation less than 3 days prior to Camp
